Before . . . this kitchen had a great layout and solid cabinets, but dark window trim and a dated backsplash and countertops were keeping this kitchen in the dark!
After . . . amazing, right? Working with the homeowner, and inspired by a magazine photo, we chose creamy yellow paint and bronze hardware for the cabinets, gray painted walls, new black granite counter tops, a gorgeous farm sink, white subway tile, and period lighting. A new island in white with a butcher-block top and a spot for the microwave added additional workspace. Recessed lighting further brightened the space.
Before . . . more dark wood around the window and butler’s pantry and a lack of overhead lighting made this space feel heavy.
After . . . white window trim, a unique mixed-metal light fixture over the table, white wainscoting, and open shelving bring new personality to the breakfast nook, The butler’s pantry was painted in the same creamy yellow as the cabinets. The homeowner’s woven wood blinds, classic white dishes, bright accessories, and kitchen table round out the space.
